1. What this site is

CommandLine Directory is an independent, free reference that lists install commands for open-source developer software. It is provided for informational purposes.

2. No warranty

Commands are reproduced from third-party projects' public documentation and are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not control the projects listed and cannot guarantee that a command is correct, current, or safe to run. A command may stop working at any time, and a remote script a command references may change after we recorded it.

Always read a command and any script it fetches before running it. You are responsible for what you run on your own machine.

3. No affiliation

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for any project listed. Inclusion reflects editorial criteria, not a business relationship. All product names, logos and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used nominatively to identify the subject of each page.

4. No paid tier

This site sells nothing. The software listed is free and open source. If you encounter anything on this site asking you to pay for a "Pro" version of a listed tool or for access to a command, it did not come from us — please report it via contact.

5. Acceptable use

You may read, link to, and quote this site with attribution. You may not:

• scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others;
• reproduce it at scale as a substitute for the projects' own documentation;
• use it to distribute malware, or to trick people into running commands they would not otherwise run;

Pages link to project websites, repositories, and install scripts. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, their availability, or their practices. Follow the link to the source when you have any doubt about a command.
